I just started my latest two batches.... 1.12 SG... yeah I remembers....

Here is a pic of my clear Mead from the first 2 batches... never mind.. I cannot figure out how to get it below the limit for upload....

Anyways, it did clear well...

I also have a blood orange Melomel that is clearing....

So they are off to sit for a few months... Woot...

I just bottled a blood orange mead too. How did you incorporate the fruit? Did you use the whole orange, or eliminate the pith?

I am not sure if what I am about to say is wrong or not.. just makes sense to me....

I waited until fermentation was complete....

Then I cut 4 blood oranges into 8ths.... removed as much of the inner pith and out peel as I could... it took me some time.. but I probably removed 95%.... when I racked it off the lees.. I added the fruit... and let it set.. I should not have said bottled.. that was my error in words.. I let the fruit soak for almost 3 weeks.... then I ran it through a screened funnel to remove most of the fruit.. added some Isinglass to help clear it....

It smells wonderful.....
