ATR, could you be more specific about what happened? By the way, the reason I stopped making homebrew (for a few years) was because bottling is such a hassle. Decided to wait until I got a keg setup (or at least "mini-kegs") There are some simple tricks to siphoning. Make sure the tubing is held secure so it doesn't get down into the sediment. I just submerge the tubing into clean water, hold one end closed with finger, gently pull out of water (still with finger on end of tubing) put open end into fermenter (I use glass carboy) lower other end into bucket and take finger off (of course, I am aware of sanitation issues) Actually, you could just swish some 100 proof vodka, suck on tube and do it old school. Make sure bucket is much lower than fermenter (gravity) Try not to oxidize the beer (tubing should be close to bottom of bucket) Hope this helps.
