I am extremely new to this and bought a large 32 qt aluminum brew kettle. After taking it out of the box I read the instructions saying to season with light oil 3 times. I started to heat the oil, after coating the entire pot, then stopped after 5 min thinking something wasn't right. I then read that you are only supposed to use water. I washed out the inside with dish soap and a sponge then filled the entire pot 3 inches from the top. I then proceeded to boil this water for over an hour. I have a nice gray layer on the pot where the water was, however I feel as though there may still be a bit of oil residue left on the walls of the pot. What can I do about this? Should I clean it with something more abrasive?
