Hey all. I'm finishing up my newly built keezer and have ran into an issue I wasn't expecting. I have 8 faucets and ordered 2 - 4" x 19" drip trays - each tray is under 4 faucets - however I ran into something I didn't expect.
I used pine for my collar and then wrapped that in a nice 1x stained oak board. I was sizing up where to install the brackets I bought and discovered they were not long enough AND if I put the drip trays flush against the keezer then the faucets won't actually drip in them. Basically the oak sticks out an inch past the front of the keezer and then the faucets stick out a few inches past that. In eyeballing where the beer would drip it's about 4.5" from the keezer wall. I guess I could go look for 5" brackets but there will be an obvious gap of an inch or so between the tray and the keezer wall. Is that a big deal? In looking at pictures of keezers from Google searches it looks like everyone else was able to mount their trays flush with the front wall of the keezer.
Solutions would seem to be 5" L brackets (epoxied to front of keezer with velcro on top of bracket and bottom of drip trays to hold them securely) or 6" wide drip trays. Thoughts?
