I have one and will be posting a review of it soon on beerborg.com. Should be out by the end of the week. Until then here are some pics

It's been a long time coming but it looks like BrewDemon 7 gallon conical will finally be available.

Don't get me wrong, this is awesome. But if they are going through all this work to custom fab these parts why not just make the legs 3 inches longer to begin with? I can't imagine it would add much to the fab cost. I don't really understand the point of a basic model that you can't even access the bottom of without spending even more money to custom make your own legs. Looking forward to the review, just my thoughts.

You make a good point about the legs. The Base model is the only one available right now with those short legs. They are going to be offering upgraded versions with longer legs and different yeast dump options just not right now. The modification I made as shown above cost me about $8 for the plastic plumbing.

You may need a brace between those legs. Once there is weight in there, that plastic is going to be holding it all up and will shake.

You can build a little platform at the bottom with wheels and mount some mounting flanges to bolt to the base, put the legs into the flanges it and it will keep everything in check and also add wheels to it.

This is the flange. They come round or square:

Most definately, that thing will come tumbling down with the slightest bump when its full with it being that top heavy.

Yes, I had thought about it being top heavy and creating a base with casters on it. Good to know I'm not the only one thinking about it.

Even with all that, I still think it will be flimsy with the pvc since pvc flexes. Maybe black pipe?

Maybe how flimsy the pipe legs will depend on the pipe wall thickness?
PVC pipe comes in different grades like schedule #40, #80.
I took a look at the webpage and the proposed price of $100 is too high for me.
I can get 2 5 gal better bottles (if they are still in business) or 4 Brewcraft 8 gallon fermenting buckets,
or 3, 6.5 gallon wide mouth fermentors or a 7.9 gallon Spiedel for the same money.
Ok, none of them has a conical bottom so If you really think you need that then maybe its a good value for you.

The short legs are a deal breaker for me right now. Thick PVC or other stable legs that are long enough to access the yeast dump and a yeast dump valve will be needed for me to consider buying this.

I agree, its $125 for the basic model right now (that you will definitely need to purchase add-ons for). You can easily buy 2 of the 7.9 gallon Spiedels for that money. I love the idea of going to a conical, but the price may be a little too high. Don't know if the $75+ is worth the conical bottom (since you can get a Spiedel for $50 on sale at times).

PVC was meant to hold pressure not weight, it's not a "ridgig" plastic. After some time, the plastic will start to warp. The legs won't break but they can bow causing a imbalance and allowing the whole thing to topple.

For me, I wouldn't risk the loss of a fermenter and beer using PVC legs.

I will probably never buy another Brew Demon.... the quality of the material is poor (cheap). I was also unhappy with the threaded lid and molded in logo which were nothing more than traps for gunk..... = more cleaning issues. This looks improved in some respects other than just larger size. Obviously the bottom drain is an improvement...That was a no-brainer, and the put a REAL spigot.......... Mine snapped almost immediately, and I was forced to carve out the opening to put a good spigot in.........I can't see what they did with the lid in the photos, but they would have done well to have put a dome on the lid for the bubbler, but at 7 gallons it probably isn't an issue.

Looks like the same crappy quality plastic.........They would have done well to go to acrylic with some weight to it.

I don't have any interest in a fermenter this large........... and if I did, this is grossly overpriced for what it is (or appears to be) in my opinion.

I brewed my Summer Wheat/Oberon clone recipe today. This was my first use of the Big Demon fermenter. During the mash and boil times I worked on the mods for this fermenter including leak testing, shortening the legs from 24" to 16", and adding the handles to carry it with and I'm glad I did because they really made the task of carrying the fermenter with 5 gallons of wort to the basement much easier.

Also I used Starsan to sanitize everything and used the yeast dump to drain it from the fermenter and it worked great. I'm anxious to see how well this thing works and I will be sure to keep you all posted.

No, that's all I could find at the hardware store and I wanted to have at least some kind of way to dump the yeast. I do plan to find a better/larger plumbing and valve.
