Need someone with one those edumacation!

Instead spending $15+ on those fancy strips that you mount in the top of your fridge to hang bottles from, that only hold a 6-pack I was going to just by the neodymium magnets and gorilla glue them in the fridge. Depending on magnet size can get a lot more for the money. This is not sure what's the best size.

I am thinking these would work with pull force of 1.36 pounds.

Don't think a beer weighs more than that. Will have to weigh later when done with work.

I use these wire grids and sit the bottles on those. Best, they come with the fridge! ;):p

Assuming a 12-oz beer, and presuming my little kitchen scale is accurate, a Sam Adams bottle weighed in at 7.6oz, a stubby Lagunitas was 6.7. So, taking that 7.6, that is 19.6ozfor a bottle, call it 20 oz. that is 1.25 LBs (a pound is 16oz, plus a quarter.)
If you want to hang from the ceiling, I would think 1.36 LBs force will hold it up - but that probably isn't a ton of excess force if something knocks into on. I would prefer a big more holding, and that's even presuming the magnet will stick to the bottle cap.

I am in no way an engineer, so I don't know much more than you do on the subject. But, what I do know is I'm not always the most delicate person. I can just imagine having a dozen or more bottles dangling from the ceiling and me trying to reach my laborers hands in to grab a beer in a hurry. To me, thats a recipe for disaster! Plus, in my apartment my fridge door seems to get shut pretty forcefully rather frequently. I would err on the side of caution and get a magnet closer to a 3 or 4 pound magnet for the added peace of mind.

Post back with results, as I have been contemplating doing the same thing many times! Best of luck to ya.

Why not get some aluminum rod and bend a rack? I would not trust a magnet under 10 pounds with anyone but yourself(have kids? Guests? Wife/GF?) reaching in and out of there.

I would worry more about the magnets staying glued in place. Non-porous plastic attached to non-porous metal sounds iffy to me when knowing something as important as bottles of beer depend on it.
