Ok This past winter I used a digital heater in my ferment room and it worked perfectly. BUT with the temp controller now needing to heat and cool sometimes in the same day, a digital one won't work because when it cuts power to it, the heater shuts off and had to be manually restarted. I had a small analog one that bit the dust and my wife bought another one for me yesterday but it keeps shutting off trying to raise the temp of the wort ...It gets too warm itself then shuts down until it cools off. in the meantime the wort is still too cold....Anyway does anyone have any suggestions for a CHEAP heater that I could get at lowes or menards that is analog that will not shut itself down that quickly??

Big hair dryer, like the one from space balls :)

Well, what size is the room?

Do you really need to heat the whole room? I have a large rubbermaid tub filled with water and my carboys and an aquarium heater. Keeps them all at the same temp with no problems. I added some hydrogen peroxide to keep the water from going.

yeah I need to heat the entire room.. I don't brew often but when I do I go in spurts. I can fit 9 primaries in my ferment room,,,more if I don't use the milk crates. right now there are 4 primaries in there,,, by next weekend it will be full. Since I put the kegerator in and have stuff on tap... my house has become very popular and keeping up with the consumption is starting to become almost like a job lol... Anyway I bought a larger heater with more BTU's and higher wattage.. it is working perectly .... so far.
