I've had mine for the last 6 days.

Damn thing will just not let go.

I haven't done anything beer related for the last week...severe withdrawals.

I'm in the same boat. Zinc & Claritin seems to be holding it at bay right now. Since before Christmas I have been dealing with a sinus infection that just wouldn't go away. Just started feeling normal and this crap hits.

I would make a Blue Blazer.

  1. Preheat two pewter mugs with really hot water
  2. boil a small amount of water
  3. heat 2.5 oz bourbon in a pan to very hot (not boiling)
  4. add 0.5-0.75 oz honey to the bourbon
  5. measure 2.5 oz boiling water into one preheated mug
  6. add bourbon and honey to the other preheated mug
  7. light the bourbon on fire with a lighter
  8. pour the flames into the water, then pour the flaming drink back and forth about five times or so
  9. squeeze half a lemon into a tea cup
  10. pour the flaming liquid into the tea cup on top on the lemon
  11. sprinkle a tiny amount of salt over the flames
  12. blow out the flames
  13. warm your belly and feel better

Sinus infection as well, since December - Haven't had a beer in a long time. No answers here.

That is a hot toddy in the UK, for sinus probs eat 2 tablespoons of strong horse radish sauce, then half fill a bowl with boiling water, add 5 ml olbas oil, place towel over head, place head over bowl.

I second the hot toddy technique. I always drink them when feeling ill, they really help a sore throat too.

I don't normally set mine on fire though, might need yo try that! :ban:

Back in the day, it wasn't uncommon to drink unfermented wort. It would be given to children, nursing mothers, the sick, the elderly, you get the idea. Kinda like a brewers pedialyte.

I struggled with them the past couple of years, my neighbor who suffered for year with sinus issues turned me on to a Neli Med (type of neti pot). Saline solution and three days and I was well on my way to a full recovery. It has been almost a year with no further infections and the effects of allergy season seem to lessen.

+1 for any nasal rinse. I had a cold 4 weeks ago, the flu three weeks ago, and another cold now. I started the Nasal rinse last night (should have sooner but I was only sick for a day or 2 prior times). They work wonders.

I am a huge believer in the neti pot. That would be a more effective, though less fun, solution to sinus issues.

I love using a neti pot.. really cleans things out and feels good too. Although, it was in the news not too long ago about a few people who died from using their neti pots - brain eating amoeba! I think they were from third world countries though, so their water probably wasn't too sanitary. Boil the water first and let cool if you want to be super safe! :drunk:
