5th beer ever.

It's a decent size beer at 1.072 on paper.

I noticed my hydrometer broke right before i was going to take a reading after adding it to the fermenter on brew day. It's a mini mash but I don't know the exact og. I feel everything went perfect on brew day tho.

My finance situation is pretty bad right now. I haven't even bought a new hydrometer.

How long on average would you guys let a beer this size sit in the primary before cold crashing? no dry hopping this one per AHS kit. og on this has to be around 1.072

It's been 18 days in primary. Had a really active fermentation the 1st 4 days. Pitched 2 packets of dry yeast (US05 i believe). I really wanted this drinkable by thanksgiving (in 22 more days)... I don't want to rush but the family is all gonna be in town.

Any thoughts other than look for loose change under the couch and buy a hydrometer?

It looks pretty flat in the carboy - sitting on big yeast cake for a while.

If you have a LHBS maybe you could pull a sample and run it over there and ask them to use a hydrometer on it or let you use one for a minute? If that's not possible I would bet your ok to bottle right now at 18 days in primary. It should carb up in 3 weeks by Thanksgiving although that's a big beer to drink right away like that I bet by Christmas it will be perfect though :)

I allways bottle my 1065 IPA's at day 19 or 20.
They are always at FG by day 5-7.

OK thanks. Well I had to leave the house so i said screw it and put it in the spare fridge to cold crash. Prob bottle it tomorrow night.

Thanks. And no LHBS close by (45 mins)
