I remember when I upgraded my modem to 9600b and thought I was the most badass on the block....now I routinely curse x-fin-ihavenointernet-ty for lag time. I would have KILLED for the speeds I have now 20 years ago. Then again I also remember when there was really no internet as we know it now. Damn I'm old. 54 today.

Happy Birthday, belated, or else it wouldn't fit the topic at hand. And sometimes I too, miss the cranky robot sounds of my modem trying to connect, as I am 50.

Hard to believe my first computer was a whopping 48k RAM, an Atari 800. It rocked, because it had a tape drive.
