So, perusing ebay, I came across this.

Combo temperature sensor and flow meter. Made of clear acrylic. Kinda neat. Could be useful for tuning your sparge.

pretty cool. I wish they would list the specs for the threading into that spinner block.

"This Flow Scout Meter Let Youcan Monitor Your Liquid System Is Very Clean And Immediacy"

OMFG...

Given that the meter seems to be associated with peecee liquid cooling applications, what do you suppose is the safe working temperature limit?

Cheers!

CPUs get pretty danged hot. I don't know if I'd put boiling water through it though.

I tried to ask the seller...

Greetings! Can you provide the safe working temperature range for this flow meter, please?

Thank you.

Dear friend,

Really so sorry. I do not know what the problem is. I hope you can understand

Well, that didn't work.

I just ran my original question through Google Translate into Simplified Chinese and sent that.
Hopefully won't start an international incident ;)

Cheers!

Given that it's acrylic, it does not do well with Boiling liquids. Just running anything acrylic through a dishwasher alone will make them crack.

Also, I would not trust any of the other components in this unit to be remotely food safe.

Success!

您好!

你能否提供安全的工作温度范围为这个流量计,好吗?

谢谢。

I love that he replied in English :)

Anyway, these units top out at 158°F, too close for comfort for brewing applications...

Cheers!

I looked at these a while backe when I went with the stainless flowswitch and a manual acrylic flow meter which doubled as a sight glass. instead... My research also showed the one above was not food grade.
