There is an HBT get-together in Rockford, MI on that day. Crazy Random Happenstance?

I probably wont' be brewing, but I will be eating, drinking, and watching/helping others brew.

I live in Louisville, so I'll be drinking at a Derby party. I may keg my alt tonight so it's ready by then.

Can you elaborate? Is there a connection between that beer and GN? I have never brewed a Scottish ale and my family's roots are from somewhere on those islands (I think Wales more than anything but w/e). This is a good idea and I may do the same. I've got a ****load of Golden Promise too.

Yes the scottish ale is a AHA Brew Day 2010 recipe. There are three to pick from this one is to honor him.....check out this site:

Both National Homebrew Day and International Workers' Day?! I wonder what it would take to get my birthday changed to May 1st?

Just create your own brew day holiday on your b-day......

So I here by make August 24 (my birthday) Bama Brew Day!!!!!!!!

I'm going to be rocking out a PB Cup porter. Should be interesting since it'll be the first running of the recipe and I'll only have like 4-5hrs of sleep going into it.

I am mulling over two possible recipes, A strawberry blonde, or maybe just brew up my house hefe. leaning towards the blonde to keep the brewday simple, it will be my first attempt brewing at an event. I would choose one of the 3 recipes, but I am not a big fan of American wheats, and I am all out of lagering space.

Are there any events or get togethers in the San Diego area? Me and the G/F will be in San Diego for a mini vacation over that weekend. We have a 3 brewery tour scheduled on Friday, but if there are any big brew day get togethers going on Saturday we'd definitely be interested in checking it out.

If it's a pretty day, I'm gonna be on two wheels with a smile on my face. If not, it'll be either an Oatmeal Stout or Pumpkin Ale.

I've got a caribou slobber kit that's been looking at me for a couple weeks now but I have no room in the fermenters. A couple of them are to ready to rack though, so I'll hold off until the first and brew it then.

Im going to be doing an AIPA...UBER hopped...

I'm brewing a black IPA on Saturday!! I'm super excited! Also, it'll be time for me to open my first AG bottles! Brewed a IIPA. Saturday can't come soon enough. :)

Didn't know May Day was National Homebrew Day...good thing I am brewing in the morning and then going to the grand opening of a local craft brewer (Aviator) that afternoon.

we're doing a home brewing seminar of sorts at my local brewery. and we're brewing an Octoberfest & i think a brown ale.

We are throwing a mega-brew at my bud's brew shed with some friends and the following list of 10 gallon batches are ready to go:

High-Octane Summit Wheat
Centennial Blonde
More Hops Palisades IPA
AHS Palisades IPA
AHS Hoegaarden Belgian White Ale
AHS Belgian Noel
A Stout of some sort
A Chimay Trippel clone

Since this is Texas we are also adding in brisket, ribs, sausage, tortillas, and an assortment of our previous beers. It really ought to be a lot of fun.

I'm brewing up a strawberry blonde for SWMBO... I'm brewing at the Tampa Big Brew Day event and I can't wait, it will be my first time brewing at an event like this....

Doing an American pale using British base malt, trying for the best of both worlds, hops and malt!

Brewing up a Scottish Ale Export 80/-, but not the recipe identified by AHA. This is my own recipe, having stole a few thoughts from AHA and a few recipes from around the site here.

Boscos in town here is giving out batches of wort. 90% 2 row and 10% crystal 40 (OG around 1.040-50 I guess). We can use their yeast (1056) or bring our own, as well as our own hops. Haven't decided what to make with that yet though... maybe something in the pale ale range, or add some steeping grains, and make an amber? We'll all be outside the bar, brewing up something different!
