I'm a beer brewer that decided to make some wine out of motherinlaws grapes. They are concord I think. Anyway that was about 11 months ago they been in the bottle around 5 months, and every bottle I try [which is 5] there is a different taste. I even notice a big diff in darkness in some.

How can they be so diff from the same batch? They all taste good so I wouldn't think some are infected. I even opened two camping this weekend and one was a little darker than the other. Taste was a little diff, but not a lot so time really can't be a factor. Thanks for any comments.

I don't know why they'd be different bottle to bottle. It does seem like that wine is pretty young, though. I made grape wine last year, too, and it won't even be bottled for quite a while. It's in carboys, and sometimes still throwing some less, even though it does appear clear. It's changing some, too, due to the bulk aging, and one of the carboys seems a bit "flabbier" than the others. I will probably just blend all of the carboys together when I go to bottle, if the other ones taste ok.

Maybe in your case, some of the wine is aging faster, due to different corks or temperature? Maybe there is some sediment still in suspension in the darker ones? I really have no idea why they'd be different if they were treated the same way and bottled the same way in the same size bottle, though.
