Been reading a LOT of threads here, and just wanted to make sure this setup will work for my brutus build... hooking it to the natural gas line in my house

Valve: http://www.pexsupply.com/Honeywell-VR8200A2124-1-2-24-Vac-Standing-Pilot-Gas-Valve-11585000-p

Controller: Love TCS-4010
http://www.dwyer-inst.com/Product/T...Switches/DigitalPanelMount/SeriesTCS/Ordering

I think this is a bit different than lonnie's brutus. The valve has its own thermocouple for the pilot, so if it goes out (windy day) it will not open the gas valve for safety.

Any thoughts, comments, or changes that i should make?

Depending on your burner, some like the Banjo are very quiet and you won't know if they go out. A more expensive way to go is a valve with ignition and auto retry but why cut corners?
What we use is an expensive solution (Smart Gas Valve), I suggest researching the threads for a better solution than a standing pilot. (My opinion)

There is a difference between temperature switches and PIDs. PIDs can be had for the same price and are better suited to brewing.

Are you suggesting something like this instead?
http://www.pexsupply.com/Honeywell-...rect-Ignition-Gas-Valve-1-2-x-1-2-inlet-oulet

So when the valve gets a call from the controller to open, will the valve send a signal to the pilot for it to light? what pilot should I use?

I've read a lot about the PID vs. Love, and for a continuously recirulating direct fired mash setup, it seems as thought the PID's tend to overshoot a bit. A love at the point where the mash exits the kettle prevents mash from getting too hot.
