Hi

I'm doing a kit name "Brewer's Best Milk Stout Kit"
accurding to the kit recipe i should endup with OG: 1.057 - 1.061 after boiling finish . but i endup with 1.044 instead . and yes i did follow all the recipe instructions .

i must say i'm using tilt wifi hydrometer since i don't have the normal one . is this tilt hydrometer any good ?

I've found the Tilt to be very accurate (0.001-0.002) for an OG reading. FG is a crapshoot: sometimes it's ok, but if you get krausen on the thing, it can be pretty wildly off (though it is still very reliable for telling you when fermentation has stopped.)

The tilt is good for knowing what is going on with fermentation and not relying on it for actual numbers. You really need a normal hydrometer for calibrating the OG. If this is the first time you've used it, then your OG may be off.

Did you measure it after it had cooled to room temperature? It will read lower when hot.

If you added top off water and did not mix well then the Tilt is not likely reading a correct gravity.
