Gentlemen,
Dude!
Dibby down in Tasmania,
and all y'all,
It now is August 9,
and store bought beer and ale ain't bad,
better than no beer or ale at all,
but I am thinking, ..........'Homebrew'...........
I called old Kelly at the 'Homebrew headquarters up in north Dallas,
and ordered 55 Lbs of pale DME for December.
{4 months away}
The '#3 bottle hoard' which takes up the corner of my bedroom,
right beside my bed.
and lends great peace of mind when I'm awake,
and great tranquility to my dreams when I'm asleep,
could be washed and dried and restacked, crates too.
Brewing is a lot of time consuming work,
and with 4 months to get caught up with other work,
I can brew in the cool season with less unrelated chores 'clouding' my mind.
The house will be cleaner and more organized.
I have never had a 'new' vacume cleaner, but do now,
brand new!
And a 'stain lifter' machine for the carpets makes the carpets not only be clean but look clean. The new poultry coops are coming along and mabey one day a chicken cam! Even a knife shop-cam!
All the fur is tanned from last year and the tractor and tiller are working.
I have been 'out' of homebrew 12 days!
And with 100 days left till cool weather,
I am starting to get nervous.
Hold on, I gotta go get me a store bought beer,
hmmmm, a Sam.
Ahhhh...
What was it last season? 1,000 bottles?
I made 517 but drink it faster than I can brew 1,000,
unless... I continue to drink this store bought beer and ale,
early in the brewing season, while I build up my stock.
The Homebrew won't be fine till it has aged in the bottle, oh, a month.
If I brew, starting about the second killing frost,
about December,
I could have 'a month' before any of my homebrew
is really ready to drink anyway.
'A month...'
and with a 'brewery capacity' of 60 gallons a month
{with three 7.5 gallon primarys and three 5 gallon secondarys,}
A week in the primary and a week in the secondary...
{a 5 gallon batch' being about 45-46 bottles,}
12 batches x 46 bottles = ie...
552 full, former bavarian bottles, with Grolsch caps 'on-em'!
I am sitting here drinking me a Sam waiting for the sun to come up,
I have, seriously, just figured out how to achieve the goal of 1,000 bottles of 'beer-ale'
{on the wall so to speak}
Start the season with 500 full bottles,
before one starts:
{'gettin-in-to-it'!}
1,000 would be not only possible,
but since I did 517 last season...
after... I started 'gettin-in-to it'...
This may be the year boys!
1,000 bottles in the 'former pantry brewery'
Full of my special precious homebrew.
'Mein Acht Pfund Hammerbier'
And I'll take better pictures this year!
Bye
