This is my first post. I did quite a bit of reading on this site and I seen some of you guys have some awesome setups posted here, so i thought i would share my first keezer build so far. I have the STC 1000 with the temperature probe taped to a coffee mug full of water. I have it set 1.3 degrees C. Is this too cold? The water isn't freezing and I like my beer cold as possible.

Right now I'm just waiting on my kegerator conversion kit to arrive and the keg of course.

If there are any tips you guys would like to share it would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

Solid start - good job so far :mug:
Your temperature control might be erratic until you fill that critter with kegs.
Thermal mass matters when using a freezer to hold beer.

I would recommend you implement an "air stirring" fan to eliminate the temperature stratification common to keezers. That will help prevent CO2 break-out in your beer lines (which I recommend you coil atop each keg).

Also, refer to the only beer line length calculator worth using before buying your beer lines.

As for temperature, 1.3°C/34.3°F at the keg will likely turn into 3.3°C/38°F in the glass and may be perfect for a light lager for some folks, but will "close up" a hoppy beer. So there's some dependency on styles that you dispense...

Cheers!
