My first time (cherry melomel)

This is my first try at mead making. I made this Cherry Melomel as a trial and also it is my wife's and my anniversary drink (in a year that is). We are planning on bottling it in half size wine bottles so we can have it for our 1 year 5 year etc.

This picture is from the day before I pitched the yeast and filled it up the rest of the way. It is now bubbling like crazy.

I hope it works and taste good. Since we can't drink it for a year at least. We are looking at trying out a BOMM. I am really enjoying seeing the bubbles... its exciting.

Congrats to you and your wife, and also on your first batch of mead. It looks good so far. My first was also a cherry melomel which has been aging for almost a year. I wish I would have wrote down the date I actually started it, but I racked it the second and final time on 12/03 of last year. My wife and I are planning to try it on New Years. Here's hoping our mead making efforts will be well worth it.
