Just did all the math to formulate my first recipe, and haven't brewed yet. Brewing will commence this weekend. Since I've only done a few batches of mostly extract, thought I'd keep it simple.

60 minute boil:
3.3 lbs LME
1 lb light DME
.5 lb Caramel 40

Should yield 1.053 OG for a 3 gallon batch

For hops:
10.5 grams Centennial @45
10.5 grams Willamette @ 20
31.5 grams Cascade at flame out
Calculated to be about 30 IBU

If anyone has any suggestions on what to add or tweaks here or there my ears/eyes are open!

Will definitely make beer.

Never done extract. Is the 60 min boil required for any reason other than hop addition timing?

Yeast choice?

Actually I think I may just boil this one for 45 minutes as my first hop addition is at that time. I believe that's the only reason to boil it for that amount of time, since there's no mashing haha, I'm slowly making my way to first all grain batch.

I plan to use wyeast 1056 American Ale yeast, also first time using liquid yeast.
