I am just about reay to brew a batch of beer after months of not having the money. I am going for an Irish type stout. The recipe is as follows:

4 lbs. Light dry malt extract
1 lb. Simpsons Roasted Barley
1 lb. Simpsons Medium Crystal Malt
.5 lb. Simpsons Black Malt
2 oz. Kent Goldings pellets at 60 mins.
1 vile White Labs WLP004 Irish ale yeast.
1 tps. Irish Moss at 15 mins.

Any comments or insights are welcome. I have no idea how it will turn out, but it will most certainly be beer. So have at it tell me what you guys think.

Roast barley and crystal appear slightly high to me. I brewed a beer just like this though. It is decent, you can expect a drier type stout.

I am expecting the dryer kind of stout. I also love the roasty flavors in stout so I wanted to try and have that flavor come out more. Thank you for the reply.
