There seems to be a lot of first batch questions, so here's mine. I got a kit that makes 1Gal. It say's to ferment for 10 day's at 70 F. My basment is steadt ay 65 F. Should I rack it on the 10th day or ferment it in primary a few day's longer.
Thanks

anywhere from ten days to 30 days in the primary is ok. 65 is probably better than 70. A good target is to rack at 14 days and bottle (or keg).

I don't think mandoman read what forum this was posted on. :D

Do you have a hydrometer? It's best to check the gravity before deciding when to rack. Most of the kits run pretty true to the instruction but because it's a 1 gallon kit I have to wonder if it's the "Mr Wine" type kit? I have not used that kit so I'm not sure what the instructions say. The good news is that it's always going to be better to wait rather than rush wine.
