So my Dunkel has been fermenting for 7 days now, I took a gravity reading and it is at 1.028. I didn't take an OG (I get lazy with that), but it does have 1 lb of Maltodextrin in it. Does MaltoDextrin add to FG? I am going to wait another week before taking another reading (and then hopefully kegging

Here is the recipe I used

8 oz chocolate
8 oz munich

1lb maltodextrin
6 lb wheat lme
8 oz of organic light lme

Hallertau hops

Danstar Munich Dry Yeast

I am not worried and it tasted great when I drank the gravity sample, but that same day I brewed a douple IPA and it used 9 lbs of lme with way more specialty grains and it is at 1.017. Thoughts?

Yes, maltodextrin adds to the FG because it is not fermentable. One pound is a lot.

According to the recipe instructions FG should be around 1.015- 1.017

I know it is possible it is not done fermenting, I will check it again in 7 days and if it is the same I know it is "done".
