I have been out of brewing for a bit but have always been planning on getting back into it. So over the past few years I have been collecting parts to build my dream set up. There is nothing new or all that exciting about my build. It’s a Kal clone (I would say plain and simple but that sounds insulting to all the hard work he put into it) I am in the final testing phases. My last major hurtle is ventilation gotta build a box and pick up a vortex. The room used to be an old unfinished hot tub room that I have been finishing over the past couple years. I can’t wait to get my maiden brew in but any ways here are some pics.

Is that a fish tank in the 4th picture?

Nice use of the room for all sorts of domestic activity!

Yes it is. 65 gal African ciclid set up. Was planning on using that wall for my conicals and some more cabinets, but we had to move the fish tank when we were laying hard woods in the living room. I might move it back at some point as I need more room, but I’m not in any rush after the pain of the first move.

Hey, that's looking really good! I've recently completed my own brewery build in our laundry room. Curious though, with all that wood behind you sink and under your kettles, aren't you worried about the water becoming an issue? I have a very similar sink and when using that spray arm it tends to get everywhere, and with a similar plate chiller and pump I'm always cleaning drips off the floor. I was very happy to have slate tile for easy cleanup.

Hopefully the washer and dryer are on the same circuit as the brew gear. Otherwise you're going to have to do loads of socks during the boil.

All the “wood” on the walls and floors is actually ceramic tile, but to be honest I’m glad you couldn’t tell from the pictures!

I like it.
If you don’t already have a hood... checked out https://www.homebrewtalk.com/forum/...entilation-needed.636955/page-25#post-8465095
This is what I want to do someday.
Cheers

I had looked at this option I was not sure I would have the head space in my keggle to keep the wort from spilling into it during the boil.
Plus I already have a vortex inline fan I just need to build a box.

Really cool though when I up grade kettles I will be looking into this for sure.

Luckily this being and old spa room it had a spa panel so I was able to run the panel off it plus have room for a couple of outlets on separate breakers. I ran a new line from the main panel for the dryer so I could keep it on the same breaker it was on previously.

A little more progress.

Built a shelf to mount underneath my brew stand. I hesitate to post this because for me it is vey utilitarian. Def not fine finishing just nailed together and stained. Gotta put a couple coats of Polly and instal.

I also got the hood started today. Pretty much done w the main build. Still need to trim the bottom, but I’m going to wait til I get the lining started. Realized I can’t finishing lining/sealing until it’s mounted or the screws will compromise the seal so that should be fun. I’ll start wood filling and prepping for paint tomorrow.

I think he means it would have been a good thing for it to be on the same circuit. So, now since you'll be in that room, why not do a few loads of laundry while you're in there. :)

Ahhh I see what you/he did there. Yea we may have have to “accidentally” trip the breaker a few times to ensure there is no laundry on brew day.

Yeah, you're best bet is to be completely incompetent when it comes to laundry. Then, it's never expected of you. :) It looks like you have a similar washer/dryer to ours, I just mess around with the settings and goof them up. And, I'm removed from the space.

For some reason, she's never asked why I can installed a sub panel, do wiring, a new control panel, home audio, car audio, boat electronics, ect... yet completely fail at turning on a dryer. :)
