I have begun construction of a homebrew kegerator. I have bought a keg kit with a corny keg, co2 bottle, reg., and some 1/4 hose. I am looking at faucet shanks but don't know if I need to go with a shank with 1/4" bore or 3/16. Does it even matter or will the dispensing pressure be affected?

I think 3/16 is a little better as well. It gives you more restriction, so if you over-carbonate a beer a little you can still pour a good glass of beer without it being all foam.

The bore diameter of the shank doesn't matter. Mine are 1/4 inch bore and I use a 1/4 inch barbed tailpiece because that was all I could find in stainless steel. Definitely use 3/16th ID line, and preferably the thick walled line that is 7/16th OD. The 3/16 line will go over a 1/4 inch barb easily if you dip it in very hot (almost boiling) water for a few seconds.
