So normally i ferment in an older wine fridge, i just set the temperature and check on it periodically.
However, this last weekend i brewed 2 beers and needed extra fermentation space. So i took out my kegs and tossed both carboys into the chest freezer and set the temps to 65 (where i normally set my wine fridge). First two days everything was fine and hovering around 68-70, so i looked this morning. the one sitting on the floor of the freezer was sitting at 66-68 and the one on the hump was sitting at 72-74, so i put the controller to 62 which kicked on the compressor and i left for work. So it should be perfectly fine. However, i'm not liking the variance between the two levels since i am looking at a chest freezer instead of my wine fridge.
Does a fan help negate this completely? or is it something that people normally deal with?
Temperature probe is in a vial of water on the bottom of the freezer as well so it does have a decent buffer.
