Mr Beer First time Help

Hi I got a Mr Beer for Christmas and brewed my first batch and bottled last weekend. I know that I am probably rushing it a bit but I tried a bottle today after one week. It was very yeasty and a little flat almost no head when poured, will this get better in another week? I want to move to a better kit soon, the Mr. Beer has given me the brewers bug.

as with any homebrew as you let it condition the flavors will mellow out and it will carb more with head retention. id say leave it for two more weeks for best results then put them in the fridge for at least 5 days to let the yeast go dormant and clear it up.

i had mine in the keg for 2 weeks, then 2 weeks in glass bottles. i tried my first bottle yesterday, after it sat in the fridge all day. the carbonation was a little strong, and there wasn't alot of flavor. I plan on trying my 2nd bottle tonight, and if it has the same results I will wait a few more days for the next one.

I def like the glass bottles better than the plastic ones the kit came with.

I also got the Mr Beer for Christmas. I started the WCPA that came in the kit right away. It spent 2 weeks in the keg and I tried one after 10 days. It was carbed well and tasted pretty good too despite being a little young. Everything I have read on here and in the Mr Beer thread says that 3-4 weeks carbing and conditioning at 70+ degrees will give you the best results. I like the glass bottles better than the plastic ones from the kit, but I like how I can tell if they are carbing with the plastic.
