Movement on Keg Top

Hi all, it has been awhile since I have actively brewed but I am starting to get back into it once again. As I am sure most of us do, I have a dream that one day I will quit my job and open brewery. It will most likely remain a dream but it is still nice to dream!

I bought my first two cornelius kegs on the web. They came in the mail and the removable top piece where you siphon the beer in on one of the kegs has some slight movement when it is closed. Does that mean this is a bad keg or is it possible that it will hold the pressure? Thanks!

The gasket on the lid is pretty thick and rubbery and does have "some play" if you force it. All four of my Corney hatches really don't move at all when latched down. I'd toss on some keg lube, pressurize, and spray some soapy water around the ring...if you get bubbles, replace the ring. Also, the two plastic feet on the flip latch might be warn and not allow for a nice tight seal...you may also have to replace these feet...I know I've seen them and they are pretty inexpensive. Hope this helps.

This is a brand new (reconditioned) keg from AHB, didnt think I would have to do that. One keg is perfect....this one is not. Thanks for the tips though...I will try them.
