well if you are in the market for one them, which some folks around here are, its better than the new price and free shipping. Still $30 cheaper would be nicer.

still can't justify spending that much on one of these as I would for 3 or 4 five gallon cornies. Though these would fit perfectly on the hump in my keezer. Somebody has to start making corny kegs in 3, 8 and 10gal sizes and sell them at a decent price, damnit

a 3gal keg is nice when you make 10g batches. You fill up one 5g, 1 3g, and then have some left over to bottle

The typical $30.00 price is for USED kegs that are no longer in service.

The NEW price for a 5 gallon keg is more like $120.00. The three gallon kegs were never made in anywhere near the quantities that 5 gallon kegs were.

Stainless steel is not cheap. The machinery to produce the kegs is also expensive. There really isn't the demand to make them in any quantity, any longer. I doubt you will even see new kegs, made in the USA, under $120.00.

A NEW 1/2 bbl. keg will cost a brewpub over $120.00 each when bought in pallet lot quantities.

The $80.00 is actually fairly reasonable considering how rare they are.

~$80 each. Ouch!

That's pretty much the going rate, they've sold in the Classifieds here for that more than a few times, and went very quickly at that. The only reason we get 5 gal kegs so cheap is because there's so many of them out there that have been decommissioned.

yes, I realize they are used kegs that are sold and that the demand isn't high enough. Still can't justify the cost compared to 5 gal. If I had money to burn I would pick upa couple

wow i had no idea the 3 gal corny's were so rare. a few years ago my swmbo got me one instead of a 5 gal corny and i guess was a sweet mistake.

they're perfect because you dont' need a kegerator. mine fits in my fridge so i just take it out and serve as necessary. :)

Must... resist... temptation...

Thanks for the heads up, OP. This one really has me torn.

They offered a $30 instant discount (per keg) last year with free shipping....If I recall, they sold out in less than 3 days.

Just spotted this & came here to post it.

Its been a good day...

2-3g cornies - 160.00 (MoreBeer)
70qt Igloo cube - 50.00 (Overton's)
Being the guy that rolls into the party with two flavors on tap - PRICELESS

(edit - spelling)

Huh, I can get to them from your link but if I go from my favorites & search B3... nothing.

Oh the Mr.e's of the interwebs. My bad.

Uuuh, this sucks.

I have four of the 3 gallon kegs, and only two of them have beer in them now.

Yet, I feel compelled to order another one...

"You know, I could do with five of those, right?"

:(

Ha, it seems your "keg bunker" plan for the coming apocalypse is progressing nicely! :D :)

keg bunker is coming along nicely

just throwing this out there. this website kegglebrewing.com is the only one i could fing that makes new 10 and 15 gallon corny kegs for under $300. i know amazing. and like 2 months ago they had the 15 gallon ones on sale for $200. insane! there other new kegs 3 and 5 gallon are pricey but i thought the 10 and 15 gallon are a good price because i have seen these things go on ebay for $400 and there is another website that makes new ones for like $600 i am saving money to get a 15 and a 10 gallon the 15 will be used to ferment 10 gallon batches and ocasionally serve 15 gallon batches. the 10 will be strictly serving. cheaper then a conical right.

Link to the same thread this post is in.... Fail :D

My bad. There was another thread discussing this but I guess I have trouble copying and pasting. I'll go back to drinking now. ;)

Someone with welding equipment needs to buy 100 5-gallon kegs ($20-25 each?), chop them down to 2-3 gallon kegs and weld them back together and sell them on this site for $40-50/each. He/she would make some decent money and make a lot of people happy.

It has been cussed and discussed here before. I think the bottom line is that it is WAAAAY more trouble than it's worth.

The kegs came in well-packed, clean and pressurized. Nice!

Also: this is probably the closest my mother-in-law is getting to baby pictures :)
