Hello all,

I just stopped by my LHBS and picked up some Star San (first time using it).

I've read Ad Nauseum that this stuff is no rinse (and the bottle mentions it in the directions), however, there are warning labels that it's not safe if it gets in your eyes, if it is swallowed, or if it is inhaled. Also, it says that it is corrosive.

I just want to make sure it's the right stuff. Purple label.

Thanks

Post a pic? Star San does have purple lettering. It is safe. I have used it to top off my fermenter. Up to a gal with no ill affects. I also dump a quart or too in for washing my yeas

There's a big difference between the concentrate in the bottle and after it's diluted to 1 oz Star San per 5 gallons of water. Diluted as directed it's no-rinse. I still wouldn't go bobbing for apples in it.

Concentrate is trouble. I spilled it on my countertop and it leaves this weird chaulky ring that wont go away. Dilluted...perfectly safe, even to drink.
