Wanted to ask yalls opinion...My 1st brew is a Brewers Best RIS..I'm currently at 18 days since the brew...I have it resting in my carboy, I moved it to the carboy on day 7....there is nothing visible in the carboy except beer, even the 100's of small bubbles that were in small clusters has disappeared... there is no foam or any thing.....just dark nirvana !!!!! after viewing hundreds of photos here on the forum I was expecting to see something!!!!.. I was very very careful with keeping things sanitized...

I was just wondering...IS THIS NORMAL????

Sorry about the quality of the pix...

If you secondary properly, that is to reach final gravity before transferring, the only thing that happens is more sediment will come out of solution.

The only thing you might see is the beer becoming more clear, and maybe some co2 bubbles. These would just be coming out of solution due to temperature change, atmospheric pressure change or just bumping the vessel.

No worries.

I have a brewers best RIS sitting in my secondary right now and it looks exactly the same. Mine sat in the primary for 3 weeks before moving to secondary though.

Do you have a hydrometer? If not get one. They are inexpensive and are about the only way to know that you are done fermenting or have fermented properly.

The beer will look inactive but once you transfer to bottles you should see some foam. I have a beer in the secondary right now that looks the same but as Jekeane said, a hydrometer reading will tell for sure if its where it should be.

Doesn't look like you have any yeast on the bottom of the fermenter. Am I wrong or is the picture just at an angle where we can't see it? If that's the case, we may need info on your yeast.
