I just brewed Crandaddy Braggot from Extreme Brewing, and was hoping that it would have a stronger cranberry flavor to it. I'm just shy of 4 weeks in the primary at this point, and took a sample. The flavor is solid, but the 2 pounds of cranberry didn't come through at all. The cranberry pieces look pretty well done, they look all nasty and grey. For reference I boiled 32 oz water, and soaked the dried cranberries for about a half hour, then used the food processor to puree, and added to the brew pot with about 7 minutes left in the boil.

Anyway, any suggestions on how I could get some more cranberry flavor at this point? I don't own a secondary, and probably won't get one for at least a month.

Can I just throw some more cranberry in there? If so, would that effect my final gravity?

Or is there something I should have done differently up front?

If you have a bottling bucket, you can rack the beer into that while you clean the old cranberries and trub out of your primary. The you can add more fresh cranberries or puree to the primary and rack the beer back on top of them. The cranberries in the secondary will likely give you more flavor and aroma than those added to the boil.
