12 oz Caramel/Crystal 60L
4 oz Wayermann Melanoidin Malt
4 oz Special B Malt
4 oz Caramel/Crystal 15L
1 oz Carafa II (just for more color)
17 grams Magnum at 60 minutes
17 grams Citra at 20 minutes
17 grams Simcoe at 20 minutes
17 grams Citra at 5 minutes
17 grams Simcoe at 5 minutes
17 grams Citra at 1 minute
17 grams Simcoe at 1 minute
17 grams Citra Dry-Hop 7 days
17 grams Simcoe Dry-Hop 7 days
Mash ~150, one pack US-05.
I first brewed this on a day I got rained out of work as a two gallon stove top BIAB (original recipe here.). The way the hops shine through without overshadowing the deep malt flavors is something I've never tasted in a commercial beer. The malt bill is loosly based on my house amber but with more dark fruit and less caramal sweetness. This is a really great beer I had to post. Hope others enjoy it too.
