I noticed The Pol did a thru-wall thermometer on his 10g cooler MLT. What's the best way to seal the hole in the cooler to prevent leaks. Looked like he used a rubber stopper. Anyone know of a compression fitting that might seal around the thermometer?

You can use a compression fitting. I've done this on a fitting meant for 1/4" tubing but instead of using the ferrule under the nut, I packed in 4-5 tiny Orings. Pol's method is much cheaper though. Undrilled stopper is dirt cheap.

I've never done o-rings in a compression fitting, but that sounds like it would work. I use fittings all the time with probes and glass thermometers, but I use PTFE ferrules on glass. Works extremely well.
