Ive done a couple extract and PM batches and Im getting ready to start doing AG. I drilled a coleman picknic cooler to use as MLT and my copper manifold doesnt sit flat on the bottom of the cooler because center distance of the hole I drilled for the ball valve sits about 1 inch from the bottom of the cooler. So the manifold sits high on the ball valve side and then angles downward. Is this going to be a problem? Or do I need to stop worrying about it and just account for some more sparge water due to the loss I will see since the manifold isnt flush to the bottom of the cooler.

I just recently completed my manifold for a 10 gal rubbermaid drink cooler. I put a copper T and a copper 90 in one of the collection tubes, leading to my out tube. This allows me to adjust the height to slide right into the the female end of my valve. The T and 90 are connected by a 1 inch section of copper pipe. I didn't put any slits in the out tube because I wanted to create a siphon effect to get any wort left below the level of the valve. I'm not sure what your manifold looks like, but maybe you can incorporate this idea?
