Still new to brewing and want to make an IPA next. Wanting to try and make my own recipe and wanted run ideas by you guys....I was reading over the 60 minute clone and like the idea of mixing the hops together and throwing a few in during the entire boil (continuous hopping I think?)
I was wondering if there are any specific combinations of hops that are either

A) Delicious when mixed
or
B) Terrible when mixed together

Just looking for a little direction...THanks
 
I don't know that I've tried any combinations that are terrible when mixed together. But there are some combinations that work wonderfully, such as Cascade and Centennial or Columbus. The New Zealand hops Pacifica and Pacific Jade are nice, along with Sorachi Ace.

For someone who is new to brewing, if I could make a suggestion: try making a few batches using only a single strain of hops. For example, you could do a pale ale with only East Kent Goldings, or a brown ale with just Fuggles. I found that it really helped me start to learn what hops I like.
 
My latest Pale's I've been using a two hop combo. First was Cascade and Willamette, a bit citrusy and woody/earthy. It was well received bit I thought it was just ok. My next one was Chinook and Ahtanum, mostly citrus and citrus. A bit disappointed with this one because it would be blend that had more depth, kinda like Amarillo and Simcoe. Experiment, but try to stay away from similar varieties if it's complex or complimenting flavors. Single hop batches are another good idea. Go on brewery websites and see what beers contain what hops.
