can any harm come from using one of those turbo mixing attachments for your drill ?

as i understand mixing fast makes sure the LME doesn't scorch.

i happen to have one of those mixers with the aeration holes and it'll force a LOT of air into the bucket / pot.
is this worthwhile to do right before pitching yeast ?

I have used a mud/paint mixer many times.

With great power, comes great potential.....for horrendous mess all over floor and cabinets.

You have been warned.

Right ... this wine mixer says never use longer than one second bursts ... even then i have a lot of red wine soaked towels.

This. +1. Towels. The mud mixer and power drill is awesome for aeration. Splendid. Magnificent. Sheer unadulterated raw insane froth whipping extravagance.

Seriously. Towels. Also, I worry about touching the sides of the plastic bucket fermentor making scratches in which bacteria can hide.

But mainly, I try not to paint the room with wort.
