So I started a batch of Imperial IPA. I thought it was a bust because there was no sign of life till 5 days in. That day I drove an hour to get more yeast but when I got home BINGO! Signs of life....so much so that the head of foam pushed up through the blowoff. Do I separated half the beer into a second fermenter. That was 3 weeks ago. I am giving it a few more days before racking.
Is it safe to re-combine the 2 fermenters contents now...if so is there any technique to doing so?

Is it safe to re-combine

well, the whole idea of a blowoff tube is that sometimes stuff blows out it. :) really no need to separate in the first place.

Now, the main concern is oxidation. Don't just pour the finished beer around . Rack it like you would for bottling/kegging.

Looking to bottle in 3-4 days but trying to eliminate some of the cleanup then by consolidating. So if I understand you...gently siphon one into the other. Is it safe to move the trub now and let it resettle or would you recommend avoiding that?

I make 10 gallon batches using a keggle but ferment as 5 gal batches separately. After fermentation, to ensure even flavor distribution, Id rack half and half into my kegs.
