Mistake with yeast

I am trying to make mead and even before I started, I bought the debittered yeast from a health food store that I now know is deactivated. Is there any way I can use this yeast? and is there any place I can get brewers yeast besides the internet?

You could check the yellow pages for a local supply shop, or some website such as:
Homebrewers Association | Find a Homebrew Supply Shop
And look for a shop that is nearby to buy some brewer's yeast at. As far as dead yeast, it can probably be used as yeast nutrient.

Local homebrew shops and brew-on-premises will have yeast.
