I was wondering if there is any mini fridge that could be converted to hold a half keg and CO2 tank. I want to make one with a tower on the top. Any suggestions or routes to take would be greatly appreciated. This is my first time making one also, so any pointers would be awesome as well. Thanks guys.

I think I may have posted this in the wrong section, so Im posting here as well.

There's a metric crapton of fridge builds in here. Time to go searching!
Look for "kegerator" or "fridge"

You're going to have a hard time finding a dorm fridge that will support a full 1/2 bbl keg. You might have to look at an actual Haier or Danby (Or any of a number of other kegerator manufacturers).
I was going to convert a dorm fridge, but found a Haier kegerator on CL for $200 :D
Then I converted it to 2 tap and upgraded the faucets to Perlicks.

Hunt around long enough and you will find a good deal. It just takes patience.

If you want fast and cheap, you can always convert a full size fridge. They are really easy to find on CL for next to nothing.

Make one out of a small chest freezer.
I just finished building one out of an 8.8 cuFt chest freezer and it will fit what you want.
The only additional part you need to buy over doing a mii fridge is a thermostat.
I dont know of any mini fridges that will hold a half keg and a CO2 tank.

i actually did find a haier kegerator on ebay for around 225 for a gently used one. The only thing is that shipping is about 80 bucks. Not sure if this is a great price, but its what i have found so far.

I saw the same one - That guy (I'm assuming) sells a crapton of those...
The shipping killed me too. but, I watched CL for about 2 months and found the deal I was waiting for. it takes time :mug:

yeah the only thing is i would like to have it done by september, were moving into our house down at school. :mug:

yeah not sure what im going to do yet. I think the idea of buying just the actual keg fridge would be the easiest route and would fit exactly what I want, but not exactly the cheapest. Decisions, decisions....
