Hey everyone. I just scored a free "mini-fridge". As of right now I do not know the brand but I can tell you it may be a bit old, meaning definitely not new. Tall too. Anyways my general question is can any mini fridge be made into a kegerator as long as I can fit a corny in it?

if your 5gal corney keg fits upright, you should. Best case is it can fit 2 and a CO2 tank along with a bit of headspace for connections. Or maybe you can drill a hole and mount the CO2 on back. Either way, you'll need to drill a hole in the top for a tower. Just make sure you arent drilling into critical components of the fridge, although most of those should be right in plain sight at the back

I just took the plunge and bought a ready assembled 2 tap kegerator bundle deal with the kegs, CO2 tank, and all the connections. I'm not too handy so I wanted to save myself the trouble of building one myself. Plus, thats hours that could be spent brewing more beer...

Drilling holes into the top and sides always come with risks. There are wires and sometimes coils. You have to be very careful. The most risk free way and the least expensive is to buy beer shanks and taps and go through the door. I built a keezer and now I'm going to build a kegerator from a 4.4 cu ft mini fridge. I have contemplated going through the door adding a tower on top. I had always seen the mini fridges with towers on top but now that I've started looking around here on HBT, I've seen photos of mini fridges with shanks through the doors.
