I have a nutbrown ale which has been in secondary (glass carboy) for about 6 days now. It tasted great when we racked it over and all has been good till this morning. I went out to check my carboys and the one with nutbrown has a milky whiteish foam floating on the surface of the beer (filled to neck). I have not tasted or smelled it yet but I may do that in a bit. Ive done maybe 30 batches so far and never had this prob.. bacteria infection maybe?
I had a batch of octoberfest that had a bit of off taste that I found out was a wild yeast infection.. same carboy but before starting this batch I scrubbed, cleaned, and sanitized(iodophor) everything thoroughly. Also, inbetween those two batches I did a stout that had no problems..
