Hello all.
I'm going to do a Milkshake IPA from BYO (Nov. 2017). It's the Urban Family Brewing Co. Limesicle Clone.
I've never done fruit additions etc in my brewing however the recipe calls for a tincture of vanilla bean and lime zest to be made. The recipe calls for the zest of 2 limes and 1 vanilla bean split and chopped. Soak in vodka from brew day until time of dry hopping. I quote from the magazine,
"Add tincture of lime zest and vanilla bean at the time of dry hopping."
Having never done such an addition, do I simply add the results of the steeped fruit/vanilla, or do I add the whole lot fruit and all to the fermenter?
Thanks heaps in advance for the help. Any other tips for a beer of this ilk would be great.
Recipe as below:
5kg 2 row pale
1.13kg flaked oats
450g rice hulls (any recommendations for using hulls in the mash are appreciated)
113g acidulated malt
790g lactose
4.75 AAU Centennial @60
113g Citra dry hop (contemplating doing these at F/O and whirlpooling)
tincture of lime/vanilla
your favourite English yeast (I've chosen WY1335)
Cheers,
Garrett
