I just bought a used Blichmann Beer Gun off ebay. I'm already thinking of ways to connect it into my already 4 keg kegerator system. My thought was if someone has made a gas connection side quick disconnect. I have several extra gas posts laying around so here is my idea. Taking two gas posts and connecting them with a nipple. Then I will take one of my already ball lock connectors and attach it to the device while attaching the beer gun with it's own gas connector the the other end of the device. Anyone else do this? I see alot of people doing some tee connectors with gas posts attached.

I used this piece to connect an extra gas post directly to the gun as in the picture (idea and pic courtesy of Golddiggie).

I have used that same fitting in numerous ball lock applications: I have two gas posts sticking out the back of my keezer, one each out the backs of my two beer fridges (for carbonating kegs in the pipeline), and another on my CO2 push rig (for O2-free transfers from carboy to keg).

One thing I have found is finding a post that works with that fitting can be problematic. In theory the 19/32-18 post thread wants to mate with a Cornelius Spartan or Super Champion gas post, but in five tries I've never gotten those two to play nice without some work: I ended up turning down the lip above the o-ring seat just a bit to allow the fitting to penetrate the post deep enough for the o-ring to seal tight. I've had zero problems with any of them with that mod.

In all cases, the leak wasn't subtle - it fairly roared. If you're luckier than me you'll find a post that fits without modding the transitional fitting, otherwise a drill press comes in wicked handy for such matters...

Cheers!
