I may or may not join you. I've got a lead on an old brake drum from a truck, if I can grab that this weekend I may put together a little blast forge.
I might need to borrow a couple rocks.

Can you grab a few rocks from the side of the river out there ? I bet you could find a dozen right sizes rocks with fifteen minutes of looking around.

I'll have a few high temperature bricks left over you can use. They're good to >2000*F. If your forge gets hotter than that you'll really have something there.
