Mash Tun Stir Motor??

Is it necessary to stir the mash if you are recirculating (RIMS)?

I am contemplating adding a low RPM stir motor to my setup. Is it worth it? I have only seen a handful of brew rigs on here use them, which leads me to believe the majority of folks are using the old fashined manual method instead.

I do HERMS, but that detail is irrelevant for the purpose of your question.

Stirring the mash tun is not necessary at all, motorized or by hand.
