Mash at 144

I brewed a Double IPA today. Mashed at 144 for about 50 minutes then mashed at 158 for 30 min. Got about 80% efficiency.

Has anyone ever done this schedule?
I am wondering about my beer being too dry.

Any feedback would be helpful.

I do that with many German lagers (more like 30-40 minutes at 145 and 158 until conversion.) I don't think an IPA can be too dry. It should be good.

As stated you really want IPA's to finish fairly dry.
