I got some fresh tapped Maple and was going to add some pecan to give the flavor a little more depth but I never used nuts before. Anyone have any suggestions or advice?

You gotta let me know how this turns out if you do it.

Just finished and it came out great but definitely had to be tweaked.

Originally I toasted 4 lbs of pecans in rum and dumped them in and while it definitely gave a texture it didn’t really pull much flavor.

I thought bought 12 oz of candied pecan and added some rum and heated on the stove and it gave a great subtle candied pecan flavor in secondary. After I carbed it up and served chilled the flavor almost went completely away but still tastes good. You just can’t taste much of the pecan.
