I'm new to the homebrewing world and on my secod batch I made a Maple Brown Ale. I make maple syrup in the spring, so I took a Brewer's Best English Brown Ale kit and added a quart of Maple syrup in the last 10 minutes of boil. The beers turned out good, but there is a slight hint of "alcoholish" taste. Almost like rubbing alcohol. Is this from the extra sugar from the syrup? To do it again, should I cut back on the malt a bit?
