I'm making a cider with a MJ kit.

The instructions tell me to add cider essence after fermentation is done, and to stir it. I'm not very interested in opening the lid to stir in anything. Isn't oxydation a problem with cider like it is with beer?

Can I add the essence when kegging? I'm going to split the batch in two kegs, so getting an equal amount in each keg might be a bit tricky.

I've never used any kits like that, but it looks like the cider essence is some kind of flavor additive. Adding it when you rack to a keg should be fine.
I'd put the cider essence in the keg first then rack the ciderin and it will mix on its own.
