Does anyone know if there is somewhere that will malt small batches of barley for me? I know that it is possible to DIY but I don't have the time or desire to learn how right now.

I farm along with my dad and my 85 year old grandpa. My grandpa really wants me to make some beer with barley that we grew. He comes from the prohibition era and may know a few things about bootlegging. So I would really like to make some home grown beer for him.

Thanks!

I have never heard of such a place, but I think you could learn to do it, it's probably a lot easier than you think. People have done it for thousands of years, and mostly with no thermometers!

Would you consider using some commercially malted barley for the diastatic power it has and use some unmalted barley from your place with it and let the malted barley convert the starches in your barley? I've done just that with my own wheat and rye.
